Asier Rua was born in San Sebastian in 1984 and studied photographic image arts at the TAI school in Madrid in 2002. Since then he lives and works in the same city photographing interiors and architectural reports, publishing in magazines such as:

In 2015 he self-published his first photobook Madrid interior, which was selected by El País as one of the 10 best photography books of the decade. Since then he combines his work as a photographer with his editorial work publishing books, his own or others, about architecture and our relationship with inhabited spaces from his own imprint RUA Ediciones. To date he has published the following titles: Madrid interior, Fisura by Ignacio Vleming, Mercat Sant Antoni Objeto Obra Atmósfera, Los usos de la decoración by Nicholas Korody and Tejiendo la calle by Marina Fernández Ramos.
